Oud Beersel Old Gueuze is one of nature's miracles. Old Gueuze is a blend of Lambics from different years. One year old Lambic is still readily fermentable. Two year old and three year old Lambic main contribution is to the taste. The brewer influences the process by selecting the Lambics, on the basis of their taste on the barrel, and then in the manner of their blending. Blending the Lambic produces a sparkling beer that is made in accordance with time-honored traditions. Oud Beersel Oude Geuze notable hop and fruit character is much appreciated by beer fans. Ingredients: water, wheat, malted barley & hop Alc. 6,0% Vol. Colour: amber gold Flagrance: hoppy aroma with typical fragrance of wild ferments Taste: The taste of the Oude Gueuze of Oud Beersel combines from way back a pleasant bitterness with a sour yet smooth character. The first mouthful refreshes the tongue and opens the way to the wondrous world of the spontaneous fermentation with its complex subtleties.

Oud Kriek Vieille
Belgian / Continental Style — Belgian Cherry Lambic

Oud Beersel Oude Kriek is an artisanal product, made from real cherries and Oud Beersel Lambic from old barrels. Once the cherries have been added to the Lambic, they are slowly absorbed into the Lambic, which develops a fruity character and a red colour. Oud Beersel Oude Kriek is unique of its type in that it contains around 400 grams of cherries per litre of Oude Kriek. Oud Beersel Oude Kriek has no added sugar and contains no artificial flavourings or preservatives. Thus, it is a very fine example of this traditional product. Ingredients: water, malted barley, wheat, 400g cherries/l and hops Alc. 6,5% Vol. Colour: ruby red Flagrance: Surprising flagrance of sour cherries and almonds. Taste: The Oud Beersel Oud Gueuze has a pleasant sourness of Champaign. The real cherries unveil an overwhelming fruitiness and the touch of almonds of the pip completes the joy. The spontaneous re-fermentation marries the cherries with the lambic and form together a pleasant tasting experience.

Gold Medal 2011 World Beer Championship

The judges at the World Beer Championship said this beer was “delicious and crowd pleasing thanks to its finesse and its taste”. They particularly enjoyed “the honey, citrus marmalade, raisin and cinnamon notes”, along with its “bright amber robe” and its “delicate frothy head”.  Brewed according to an original recipe based on natural peach extracts, the natural flavourings and extracts of the fruit complement the original bitterness of Scaldis Amber to create a rounded and perfectly balanced beer.  Its 8.5% alc. vol. probably makes it the strongest beer with fruit.
